Welcome to the site of the NGO «Belarusian Children`s Hospice»

Many people die every day from different diseases.  Each person behaves in their own way when they find out that they have an incurable disease. Someone who is exhausted by pain and suffering will just accept the inevitable, another person will fight against everything and others wait for a miracle.  All of them have one feeling in common.  Each one of them hopes for something better — sometimes for a better life, sometimes for a better death.

In such situations, the only effective treatment is palliative care which provides pain control and dignity to terminally ill people.

Palliative care is any form of medical care or treatment that concentrates on reducing the severity of a disease's symptoms rather than striving to halt, delay, or reverse the progression of the disease itself or provide a cure. The goal is to prevent and relieve suffering and to improve the quality of life for someone who is facing a serious and complex illness.

Our main goal is to give a sick child the best quality of life possible. We can`t take away their incurable ilness but we can give them pain control, dignity, self-esteem and our love and care.

The Belarussian Children's Hospice is not only the first children's hospice in the Republic of Belarus but in CIS as well — it was opened in 1994.
