Charity concert at the Palace of the Republic

A charity concert took place on Saturday, October 17.

Preparations for the concert began in the summer. With no previous experience of organising such events we found the whole process very exciting. It turned out that Belarusian singers were easily approachable people willing to render their help and assistance. The first band to agree to take part in the concert was Detidetey who became the headliners. Other bands — Bosae Solntse, Neyrodubel, Novy Jerusalem, Stary Olsa also agreed at once. Communication with Dmitry Vaitushkevich, Oleg Khomenko, Igor Sorokin, Oleg Kopenkov and Vladimir Ugolnikov was very easy. Unfortunately, J_Mors and Stokes could not take part in the concert due to reasons beyond their control. And last but not least, ZM99 and Naka bands approached us first themselves and proposed to take part in our concert. We want to thank all bands who made time and agreed to sing at our concert for free, helping to raise funds for terminally ill children.

The concert turned out to be an event full of humour, warmth and liveliness. We planned a two-hour performance but ended up with a three hour long event. No one seemed to object though — the spectators enjoyed live music and musicians appeared reluctant to leave the stage.

Before and after the concert our volunteers manned the information stand in the lobby of the Palace. They distributed details of programmes we run at the Belarusian Children's Hospice, information about our children etc.

We express our heart-felt gratitude to all musicians, management of the Palace of the Republic and, personally to its director Petr Volkov; JSC Priorbank, who purchased most tickets; Delux Group concert agency; our volunteers and, of course, all those who came to share this wonderful evening with us. It is great to have so many good friends, and we can do so much together.
