On Saturday, 22 May, a regular training for volunteers was held… The training for volunteers of the Belarusian children's hospice on «Characteristics of palliative care» in the framework of the project: «Development of social initiatives in improving quality of life for families of seriously ill Belarusian children affected by the Chernobyl accident» was held on Saturday, May 26, 2010.
As a part of training the volunteers were trained on the following topics: «Peculiarities of palliative care for children» «Psychological characteristics of families of gravely and terminally ill children» «Medical foundations of palliative care» «Prevention of emotional frustration at assisting the family of seriously and terminally ill child» We would like to held such training activities at a regular basis, as it is, first, allows volunteers to be more informed and skilled in assistance to children, and secondly, increases the educational level of volunteers who not only give but also get knowledge.
