We begin fundraising for a new children's hospice building…

As we have written before, May 19, 2011 the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko ordered to allocate a plot of land to Belarusian Children`s Hospice for a new hospice building construction.

The point is that the building, Belarusian Children`s Hospice locates nowadays, is very comfortable but totally unfit for a medical establishment: in-patient care is situated on the second floor, to which steep stairs lead and there's no a single opportunity to equip a lift. There's no separate exits from children rooms, as it is common in the world, there's no opportunity to make an out-door playing ground for kids… We lack a great deal of things but we hope that we will get them with building of a new hospice!

So, we were given a plot for hospice building (area 0,68 ha) which is situated in the northern part of the Opytnyj Town of Borovliany Village Committee of Minsk District. It's in a stone's throw from Republic Scientific-Practical Children's Oncology and Haematology Center, and it's the best variant for us! (available on map)

Since September 2011 company JLLC «ITC Engineering» has started architectural design preparation. The preparation of a building and an architectural designs costs nearly 57,000 USD. Both these designs must be ready by March 2012. Then we are going to start construction. The estimated approximate cost of building is nearly 2,000,000 USD.

It will be a challenge to carry out such a large-scale project, nevertheless, we believe there are be sympathetic people who are able to help us. Actually there are 4,6 million working population in Belarus and if each person donates us at least $1 we will raise the necessary sum.

We have a strong belief that we will manage to built in Belarus a children's hospice patterned after best European models, because our kids are worthy it!
