Recreation camp “Borok”

On June 9, 2011 we had a joint campaign with the recreation camp «Borok» of MAPID JSC…

It is great when the society pays much attention to disabled children and conducts purposeful work for their social integration! One example of such work was an educational project «Mercy — mirror of soul» developed and implemented in summer 2011 by the staff of the recreation camp «Borok» of MAPID JSC located near Rakov. According to Natalia Alxandrovna Nikiforova, the educational psychologist working for the camp, one of the objectives of this project is improvement and extension of interaction of children staying in the camp and handicapped children. That is why the camp management invited an employee from the Belarusian Children's Hospice to come to the camp and to tell children about the rules of interaction with disabled people, to tell how the society should build relations with such people. We think it is a wonderful beginning! It is particularly important as the fundamentals of humanism and morality originate from the childhood.

The campaign enlisted nearly 250 children in the age of 11–18 years old. Their questions demonstrated that they are not indifferent to this problem. We hope that this event has helped us to near the ideal society where all of us would like to live!

The Belarusian Children's Hospice gives thanks to Director of the camp Galina Grigorievna Biryukova for the initiative to hold such a campaign, for help and assistance!
