INVITATION TO CREATIVITY

Art therapy group for siblings of children with special needs

Public Charitable Organization «Belarusian Children's Hospice» conducts an additional set of children for lessons in art-therapy group.

Classes are designed for siblings of children with special needs.

Classes are free

Objectives:

• Psychological Rehabilitation
• Emotional support
• Creative expression
• Training of various artistic techniques
• Teaching children effective joyous communication with their brothers and sisters who have special needs
• Social rehabilitation, the opportunity to participate in art exhibitions and competitions

Children will learn to create various crafts from scrap materials, will have a chance to take part in the competition for the best crafts and exhibition of creative works, also framed photo exhibition will be held.

Schedule:

Period: October 2010 — February 2011

2 groups: the youngest — children age 7–12, the elder one — children age 13–17.

Schedule: 2 lessons per month for each group (1 every 2 weeks) on Fridays

Duration of the lesson: 2 hours

Time: 17:00 Group work every Friday.

This work was funded by the World Bank in Belarus and it's conducted within the project of the Belarusian Children's Hospice aims to improve emotional well-being of siblings (brothers and sisters of children with OPFR) through playing and art therapy.
